Precision & Recall was founded on a simple frustration: the recruiting industry has a data quality problem. Hiring managers wade through CVs from candidates who clearly don't fit. Great engineers ignore outreach because it's always irrelevant. Both sides of the table lose.

We come from data and ML engineering backgrounds. We've written the pipelines, sat in the technical interviews, and lived the hiring pain from the inside. That experience shapes everything we do — how we read a CV, how we brief a role, and how we know when a candidate is genuinely worth your time.

The engineers who move the needle — senior to principal, typically passive, often working across disciplines that are hard to capture in a job description — are genuinely difficult to find. They need a recruiter with deep market knowledge, real relationships, and enough context to know who will succeed in the role, even when the brief is incomplete.

Precision & Recall exists to bring the same rigour to recruiting that good engineers bring to their work. In ML, you don't ship a model with terrible precision just because recall is high. We hold the same standard: every candidate we put forward has to be right, and we won't stop searching until the right one is found.
